Hearth Dutch Oven 7.5 qt

The Hearth Dutch Oven 7.5 qt is the batch pot: 30 cm across (11.8 in), 14.5 cm tall, 7.1 liters, 6.4 kg (14.1 lb) with the lid. It holds a whole turkey breast, a double batch of chili, or stock from a full chicken carcass, and it serves six to eight. The pot is enameled inside and out, so there is nothing to season and nothing to oil; the interior wipes clean. A stainless steel knob tops the lid, and the exterior enamel comes in three colors.

The 4 mm cast iron walls take a long time to heat and a long time to cool, which is what a 7 liter braise wants. The lid is self-basting, with drip points underneath that rain condensation back over the food. Wide loop handles on both sides, because a full pot weighs close to 14 kg.
