Bright Stockpot 8 qt
The Bright Stockpot 8 qt is the tall tri-ply pot: 26 cm across (10.2 in), 25 cm of base, 17 cm tall, 7.6 liters, 2.4 kg (5.3 lb), with a stainless lid. It boils water for a pound of pasta with room to stir, simmers stock from a whole chicken, and holds a full batch of soup. The 2.6 mm wall is 18/10 stainless inside, aluminum core, magnetic stainless outside, and the polished interior shows exactly how clear the stock is.
Two riveted stainless loop handles carry the pot full. Oven-safe to 315 °C (600 °F) uncovered and 260 °C with the lid on, and it works on induction. Dishwasher safe; a hard boil can leave a faint heat tint that comes off with a splash of vinegar.
Questions
How many servings of soup does it make? 7.6 liters is about twelve bowls. For a smaller batch, the Bright Saucepan 2 qt holds 1.9 liters, and for a braise that browns first, the Bright Saute Pan 3 qt has a 24 cm cooking surface.
Is there anything I should not put in the dishwasher? The pot and lid both go in. Wipe the rim dry afterward if water spots bother you; they are minerals from the water, not damage.
Does it stand on the Bench Trivet? Yes. The Bench Trivet is 20 cm across and rated to carry the heaviest Hearth pot, so the 2.4 kg stockpot plus stock is within its limit.
