Bright Saucepan 2 qt

The Bright Saucepan 2 qt is the small tri-ply pot: 18 cm across (7.1 in), 17 cm of cooking surface, 9 cm tall, 1.9 liters, 1.1 kg (2.4 lb), with a stainless lid. It cooks rice for four, oatmeal for two, a custard, or a reduction, and the rolled rim pours a sauce without a dribble down the side. The wall is 2.6 mm: 18/10 stainless steel inside, aluminum core, magnetic stainless outside, polished before it leaves the shop.

The riveted stainless handle is 18 cm long. Oven-safe to 315 °C (600 °F) without the lid and 260 °C with it, and it works on induction. Dishwasher safe. If a high boil leaves a rainbow tint on the steel, a little vinegar and a cloth take it off.

Questions

Is 2 qt enough for a family? For rice, grains and sauces for two to four, yes; 1.9 liters is the working capacity. For pasta water or soup, step up to the Bright Stockpot 8 qt.

Can I use the chainmail scrubber on stainless? It is not needed. Soak, then soap and a sponge; a paste of baking soda for stubborn spots. Keep the Bench Care Kit's chainmail for the bare iron and carbon steel pans.

Will it work on an induction cooktop? Yes. The exterior layer is magnetic stainless steel, like every Bright piece, including the Bright Saute Pan 3 qt.
